My Alnebratt, a regional councilor for S, emphasized the need for early scrutiny, stating that current practices allow problematic individuals to enter the system before they are adequately vetted.

Since the beginning of 2023, the Västra Götaland Region has terminated contracts with nine healthcare centers due to patient safety risks associated with criminal activity. Alnebratt highlighted the severity of the issue, noting that serious criminal backgrounds have been identified among those connected to these dismissed healthcare providers. This prompted the party's call for regions to have greater latitude in terminating contracts with unreliable private healthcare operators to protect patients from potential harm.

Additionally, Alnebratt reported alarming findings from scrutiny of dental practices, revealing that invoices from dentists were rejected in 34% of reviewed cases due to discrepancies.
