Kaczyński on SAFE. "The president is not crazy"

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński defended the SAFE program, comparing it to a risky home loan, asserting that both he and the president are rational in their decision-making regarding Poland's financial strategies.

Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the Law and Justice party (PiS), addressed a journalist's question regarding the SAFE program by likening it to a home loan with variable interest rates and currency risks. He used this analogy to emphasize that while there may be complications, the primary concern is who decides where the money goes and how it will be used. Kaczyński provocatively asked whether one would accept such a loan, suggesting that anyone who would propose it be viewed as 'crazy'.

He further stated that he, along with President Andrzej Duda, are 'normal' and rational thinkers, suggesting that they are capable of making sound decisions for Poland concerning the SAFE program. Kaczyński expressed confidence in the president's ability to navigate the situation and make 'rational and beneficial decisions' for the country, although he noted he cannot speak on behalf of Duda.

Additionally, Kaczyński hinted at alternative financing options that might emerge, indicating a broader discussion on Poland's financial strategies. His remarks reflect the political tensions surrounding economic policies in Poland and underline the importance of leadership perceptions amidst public discourse on financial programs.
