Temperatures expected to reach +14 degrees on Wednesday
Latvia is set to experience clear weather on Wednesday morning with temperatures rising to between +9 and +14 degrees during the day.
On Wednesday morning, much of Latvia will experience clear weather, although the Kurzeme and Latgale regions will see more clouds and potential light rain in some areas. In parts of the country, snow remains on the ground, particularly in Selija and Southern Latgale, where snow cover exceeds ten centimeters. A light to moderate wind is blowing from the south to southwest, with some fog reported in Kurzeme, and overall air quality is described as moderate.
According to the data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC), temperatures at 5 AM ranged from -2.7 degrees in Madona to +4.3 to +4.8 degrees in Kolka, Ainaži, Jēkabpils, and Rēzekne. In Rīga, the temperature was around +1 degree at the airport and +4 degrees in the city center, with a south wind blowing at a speed of three to four meters per second. As the day progresses, temperatures in Latvia are predicted to rise to a comfortable range of +9 to +14 degrees Celsius, but areas along the western coast of Kurzeme and the northern Vidzeme coast may see temperatures not exceeding +6 degrees.
Meteorologists forecast an increase in cloud cover throughout the day, while Latgale will experience fewer clouds by the afternoon compared to the morning. The changes in weather and temperature indicate a transitional phase for Latvia as the country moves away from the winter season, suggesting that residents can expect a mild spring-like day on Wednesday.
