Today will be sunny and warm
The weather in Latvia is expected to be predominantly sunny and warm with temperatures ranging from +6 to +11 degrees Celsius.
On Friday, as the fog dissipates, Latvia is forecasted to experience mostly sunny and warm weather, according to meteorologists. The day is expected to be dry, with little to no precipitation. Wind conditions will be generally mild, blowing from the south and southwest.
The air temperature across most of the country is predicted to rise to between +6 and +11 degrees Celsius, though slightly cooler conditions will persist in certain southeastern areas where there is still significant snow cover, as well as in some places near the icy sea. In Riga, temperatures will hover around +10 degrees Celsius in the afternoon as the sun warms the city, accompanied by light southern and southwestern winds.
The weather is influenced by a high-pressure area, with atmospheric pressure anticipated to be between 1023 and 1026 hPa at sea level. A year ago on March 6th, under gusty westerly winds, much of Latvia saw temperatures rise to between +11 and +15 degrees Celsius, with Daugavpils reaching +15.5 degrees Celsius and breaking the national heat record for this date by 1.7 degrees.
