The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board has inducted 104 new headteachers to enhance leadership in public primary schools across the state.
The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has officially inducted 104 newly appointed headteachers to fill vacancies in public primary schools throughout the state. The induction ceremony was held at the NUT Hall in Kuto, Abeokuta, emphasizing the importance of quality education at the grassroots level. The chairman of SUBEB, Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, encouraged the newly inducted headteachers to commit themselves to improving education quality in their respective schools.
During the ceremony, Ifede highlighted that the appointment of these headteachers reflects the government's confidence in their professional abilities and dedication to their new roles. He stressed that their leadership qualities would play a vital role in enhancing the educational standards in the schools they manage, asserting that effective leadership is key to successful teaching and learning outcomes. As they transition into these roles, they are tasked with meeting the challenges of educational leadership within the public primary sector.
The induction not only serves as a formal recognition of the headteachers’ roles but also as an opportunity for capacity building. By equipping these new leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge, SUBEB aims to foster a collaborative environment focused on educational excellence and sustainable progress in primary education across all 20 local government areas of Ogun State.
