TTS Energia wins auction to build solar power plant in MG

TTS Energia has secured a contract to construct a 5 MW solar power plant in Jequitibá, Minas Gerais, Brazil, with an investment of R$ 8.7 million.

TTS Energia has successfully won an auction to construct a 5 MW photovoltaic solar power plant in Jequitibá, located in the interior of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The contract was awarded by Cemig SIM, a subsidiary of the Grupo Cemig, which is a mixed-economy energy company controlled by the Minas Gerais state government. The project necessitates an investment of R$ 8.7 million and involves the installation of 10,864 photovoltaic modules, marking a significant step in the region’s renewable energy sector.

The solar plant is set to provide energy to clients through a subscription model, allowing customers to benefit from solar energy without the need for large upfront investments. The expected completion date for the project is October of this year, which includes all necessary phases such as execution, commissioning, and energization of the plant. Once operational, the Jequitibá plant will become part of Cemig SIM’s portfolio as part of their renewable energy expansion strategy in Minas Gerais, promoting the use of clean energy.

The installation of the solar facility coincides with a period of declining costs associated with solar energy storage systems, which have been driven by a significant reduction in international battery prices. This trend not only enhances the feasibility of renewable energy projects but also positions companies like TTS Energia and Cemig SIM at the forefront of the growing solar market in Brazil. As Brazil continues to invest in sustainable energy solutions, this project could serve as a model for future initiatives aimed at expanding solar energy capacity across the country.
