Goalkeeper Bruno is considered a fugitive by the Justice of Rio de Janeiro
Bruno Fernandes, a goalkeeper, is now regarded as a fugitive by Rio de Janeiro's justice system after failing to present himself following the revocation of his conditional release.
The Justice Tribunal of Rio de Janeiro has declared goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes das Dores de Souza a fugitive, as he did not report back after his conditional release was revoked last week. Bruno was convicted for the murder of Eliza Samudio and, shortly after being granted conditional freedom in February, he traveled to Acre without the necessary permission. According to Judge Rafael Estrela NΓ³brega, his actions indicated a disregard for the terms of his release, leading to the revocation of the benefit he was granted.
Bruno left Rio de Janeiro on February 15, 2023, after being signed by Vasco-AC and even began training with the club. His registration was confirmed in the Daily Information Bulletin of the CBF, and he participated in a match for the team. However, the judge noted that his behavior showed a blatant disregard for complying with the terms under which he was allowed to remain free, which resulted in the decision to consider him a fugitive.
The situation has drawn attention not only because of Brunoβs past convictions but also due to the implications it has for his career in football. His actions have now cast a shadow over his professional engagements and raised questions about the effectiveness of monitoring systems for released prisoners. The legal team representing Bruno has been vocal about the situation, indicating that there may be further developments as they respond to these recent judicial actions.
