Goalkeeper Bruno is considered a fugitive by the Justice of Rio
Former goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes is deemed a fugitive by the Rio de Janeiro Justice after violating the conditions of his parole by traveling without authorization.
Bruno Fernandes, a former goalkeeper, is currently classified as a fugitive by the Rio de Janeiro Justice System after breaching the terms of his parole. An arrest warrant was issued on March 5, indicating that he failed to adhere to the stipulations of his conditional release, which prohibited him from leaving the state of Rio de Janeiro. The breach occurred on February 15, shortly after he was granted conditional freedom, during which he traveled to Acre without the necessary judicial authorization.
The parole violation led the Penal Execution Court to revoke his conditional status and direct his return to semi-open prison. The situation escalates the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Fernandes, who was already serving a sentence for the homicide of Eliza Samudio, raising questions about the effectiveness of monitoring systems in place for parolees, especially those convicted of serious crimes.
In response to the court's decision, Bruno's defense team has advised him against presenting himself to authorities at this time, indicating plans to appeal the ruling. His attorney, Mariana Migliorini, suggests that they prefer to wait for the court's evaluation of their appeal before taking any further steps, implying a strategic approach to potentially mitigate the legal consequences Bruno faces during this complicated judicial situation.
