Entrance fee for visiting Morro do Pai Inácio, one of the main postcards of Chapada Diamantina, will increase starting in April

The entrance fee for visiting Morro do Pai Inácio will be adjusted starting April 6, with new rates set by the municipal authorities in Brazil.

Starting April 6, the entrance fee for Morro do Pai Inácio, a key tourist attraction in Chapada Diamantina, will be increased. The announcement was made by the Municipal Secretariat of Environment and Climate Change of Palmeiras (Semmap), which stated that the new fee will be R$ 20 for full entry and R$ 10 for half-price tickets. This adjustment has been mandated by Municipal Law No. 939/25 and Decree No. 56/2026.

The new pricing will also apply to the nearby Parque Natural Municipal do Riachinho. The increment in fees represents a monetary correction reflecting changes from 2018 to 2025 as stated by the municipal authority. The increased revenue from these fees is intended to support the maintenance of the areas, fund environmental preservation efforts, and enhance the infrastructure of the conservation units in the region.

This move is part of broader efforts by the local government to ensure sustainability while managing one of the most popular natural sites in Brazil. By adjusting the rates, officials aim to balance the financial needs for the upkeep of these scenic spots with the accessibility for visitors who contribute to the local economy through tourism.
