Inpe opens registrations for the season of free visits to the headquarters in São José dos Campos; learn how to schedule

The National Institute for Space Research (Inpe) in Brazil is now accepting registrations for free institutional visits to its headquarters in São José dos Campos, scheduled between February and December.

The National Institute for Space Research (Inpe) has announced the opening of registrations for a series of free institutional visits to its headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil. This initiative, designed to foster public engagement with the institute's research and technological development work in the fields of space, environmental, and climate studies, will run through the year with specific periods allocated for visits. The effort aims to educate the community about the important research activities being conducted at the institute.

Visits will be available in two semesters: the first semester runs from February 24 to July 6, and the second from August 4 to December 3. However, visits will only occur on Tuesdays through Thursdays, with no tours available on Mondays, Fridays, weekends, or holidays. Each session is organized into two time slots, allowing groups to experience the institute’s facilities and various departments involved in space and environmental research.

Participants will have the opportunity to take guided tours of key sectors such as the Integration and Testing Laboratory (LIT) and the Tracking and Control Center, which are crucial for the various space missions and projects led by the institute. This initiative not only promotes scientific literacy among locals but also enhances the visibility of Inpe’s critical contributions to space research and technology on a national and potentially international level.
