Santos launches the Emprega Mulher program to enhance qualification and female inclusion in the job market; see the available courses
The city of Santos has launched the Emprega Mulher program aimed at increasing women's participation in the workforce by providing access to free qualification courses in various sectors.
The Municipality of Santos has initiated a new program titled Emprega Mulher, designed to boost women's presence in the labor market by enhancing access to qualification courses in sectors with historically low female participation. This program is part of a broader initiative to address gender inequalities and encourage women's involvement in key local economic sectors. The launch event took place at the Casa da Mulher on Friday (6), emphasizing the city's commitment to empowering women through education and job training.
The Emprega Mulher program focuses on several priority areas, including civil construction, the port sector, logistics, and the automotive industry, which have been identified as fields with limited female representation. By targeting these sectors, the program aims to not only increase female employment rates but also to diversify the workforce, thereby contributing to a more inclusive economy. Free registration for various courses is currently open, reflecting the city's proactive approach to skill development.
In addition to training, the program aims to foster partnerships with private companies that are willing to participate and support this initiative. These organizations are expected to sign a Cooperation Agreement with the Municipality to ensure their commitment to the program's objectives. This collaborative effort is anticipated to enhance job opportunities for women and create a more equitable job market in Santos, paving the way for long-term economic growth fueled by increased diversity and gender equality in the labor force.
