Santos Women's House is offering free culinary courses for women in Santos, Brazil, with opportunities to turn culinary skills into income.
Casa da Mulher de Santos, located in the coastal region of São Paulo, has announced the opening of 36 vacancies for two free culinary courses designed specifically for women. Each course will accommodate 18 participants and is conducted in partnership with the Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae) and the Santos Commercial Association. The courses aim to empower local women by equipping them with skills to prepare and sell tasty dishes, including tortes, quiches, and pizzas, thereby fostering entrepreneurship in the culinary sector.
The courses are tailored for female residents of Santos aged 18 and above and will blend culinary techniques with business management training. The management classes are scheduled for March 12 and 13, followed by technical classes from March 16 to 20. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to promoting gender equity and supporting women in entrepreneurship by giving them the tools and knowledge necessary to start their own food businesses with a professional edge.
In light of the economic opportunities presented by these courses, the initiative not only seeks to enhance women's culinary skills but also strives to create avenues for financial independence. This educational program is anticipated to generate a positive ripple effect, contributing to the local economy while empowering women to take charge of their livelihoods through food entrepreneurship.
