Athletics Clubs Chose Kreete Verlin as the Athlete of the Month for the Second Time in a Row
Kreete Verlin, a hurdle runner, has been recognized as the Athlete of the Month for February by Estonian Athletics Federation clubs for the second consecutive month.
In February, Kreete Verlin, a talented Estonian hurdle runner, was named the Athlete of the Month, marking her second consecutive month receiving this honor from the member clubs of the Estonian Athletics Federation. This recognition comes in the wake of her impressive performance where she broke the Estonian record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.96 seconds, becoming the first Estonian woman to officially dip below the eight-second mark, and also meeting the qualification standards for the upcoming World Indoor Championships in Torun.
As she prepares for the Torun indoor championships, member of the Estonian Athletics Federation board, Nelli Pormeister, posed several questions to Verlin. Among the interesting insights shared, Verlin emphasized that the three defining words for an ideal hurdle race are 'frequency, speed, and confidence.' She reflected on her favorite training location, the Kadrioru Stadium, asserting its importance in her athletic journey and emotional connection to the sport.
