Verlin finished the hurdles sprint again in less than eight seconds

Kreete Verlin won the women's 60-meter hurdles at the Estonian indoor athletics championships with a time of 7.99 seconds, matching her prior impressive performance in Madrid.

Kreete Verlin showcased her exceptional talent at the Estonian indoor athletics championships by winning the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.99 seconds, once again finishing under the eight-second mark. This victory mirrors her remarkable performances earlier this month in Madrid, where she set a new personal best of 7.97 seconds in the heats and an even more impressive 7.96 seconds in the finals, both of which established new Estonian records.

Standing as a strong contender in the competition, Verlin had little opposition, with Mia Mireia Uusorg arriving in second place, 51 hundredths of a second behind her. Beyond her individual accomplishments, Verlin secured her qualification for the World Indoor Championships, further cementing her status as one of Estonia's top athletes. This current success at the national level adds to her growing reputation in the sport following her recent performances abroad.

In addition to Verlin's standout performance, the championships also highlighted other talented athletes; Viola Hambidge claimed victory in the women's 800 meters with a new best time of 2:11.41, surpassing last year's U-20 national short-course record. Furthermore, the newly crowned 60-meter champion Ann Marii Kivikas also triumphed in the 200 meters with a time of 23.89 seconds, just short of her personal record set in Luxembourg earlier this year, indicating a competitive field of athletes in Estonia's athletics scene.
