Finnish motorhome giant files for bankruptcy

Best Caravan, a major seller of motorhomes in Finland, has filed for bankruptcy following financial difficulties.

Best Caravan, one of Finland's largest sellers of motorhomes, has filed for bankruptcy as announced in a recent application submitted to the district court. The application was initially reported by Ilta-Sanomat, revealing that the company has faced significant financial struggles despite having previously sought restructuring measures to stabilize its operations.

The bankruptcy follows a motion filed earlier this year by Elo, a pension insurance company, indicating the severity of Best Caravan's financial situation. Initially, the company filed for corporate rehabilitation, aiming to reorganize its financial status and modernize its operations in hopes of sustainable recovery. However, this plan was ultimately unsuccessful, leading to the filing for bankruptcy.

Founded in 2003, Best Caravan operates several locations across Finland, including Hyvinkää, Turku, and Oulu, and also has a presence in Haaparanta, Sweden. This bankruptcy marks a significant development in the Finnish motorhome market, as Best Caravan has played a crucial role in the industry not only in Finland but also in bordering areas.
