Famous luxury car importer is being sought for bankruptcy

The Finnish luxury car importer Luxury Collection Automobiles is facing bankruptcy proceedings initiated by the tax authorities due to unpaid debts.

Luxury Collection Automobiles, a well-known importer of luxury and supercars in Finland, is being pursued for bankruptcy by the Finnish tax authority, Verohallinto. The bankruptcy claim is based on an unpaid debt totaling 433,387 euros, which has been recorded in the Ministry of Justice's insolvency register. This company is recognized for bringing brands like McLaren and Maserati to Finland, where it also offers a range of new and used specialty cars, including tailored ordering and maintenance services in locations like Lempäälä and Espoo.

Despite the current bankruptcy proceedings, Luxury Collection Automobiles had reported profitable operations from 2020 to 2023, with the latest financial statements indicating an operating profit of 311,000 euros for the fiscal year 2023. However, this financial performance has not shielded the company from tax liabilities, and Verohallinto has chosen to take legal action to recover the unpaid taxes. The implications of this bankruptcy pursuit could affect the company's relationships with suppliers and customers, potentially leading to a loss of credibility in the luxury car market.

The CEO of Luxury Collection Automobiles, Miika Toivonen, was unavailable for comment when reached by Kauppalehti, and Verohallinto representatives indicated that they could not disclose details regarding individual tax matters. This situation highlights a struggle many businesses face in meeting tax obligations, particularly in markets as competitive and niche as luxury automotive sales, thereby raising concerns about the sustainability of such enterprises in the Finnish market.
