Police have initiated an investigation into the damage to train glass
Authorities are investigating an incident involving damage to a train's glass reported by a passenger, with no injuries and ongoing safety measures in place.
A passenger reported damage to the glass of a train, prompting the State Police to launch a resorical investigation into the incident. According to Sigita Paula, head of the Communications and Marketing Department at 'Vivi', no passengers were harmed as the train continued its journey thanks to the high-security multi-layered glass used in trains. The damage occurred only to the external layer of the glass, which did not pose any danger inside the train, as no glass shards or other damages were found in the passenger cabin.
The company 'Vivi' refrained from commenting on the theory that a shot may have been fired at the train, as the investigation by the State Police is still ongoing. Such incidents of vandalism have happened about once a month, according to the company's data, mostly involving teenagers throwing stones, or placing various objects on the tracks, which can significantly endanger passengers and train staff. This raises concerns over the safety of public transport and the need for better awareness regarding these dangers.
The company is urging parents to discuss these incidents with their children, as they often tend to happen during school holidays. The importance of educating young people on the serious consequences of such acts cannot be understated, as they pose a danger not just to themselves but to others as well. 'Vivi' aims to foster a more responsible attitude towards train safety in the community, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to prevent such acts of vandalism.
