Duo involved in accident with stolen car, flees as passengers and ends up arrested in Ourinhos

Two men were arrested after getting into an accident with a stolen car in Ourinhos, Brazil.

On Monday evening, two men were apprehended on the Orlando Quagliato Highway in Ourinhos, São Paulo, after being involved in an accident with a stolen vehicle. The car had previously been abandoned following a crash on the Presidente Castello Branco Highway in Campo Limpo Paulista. Witnesses reported that the occupants fled the scene by catching a ride in a red vehicle, prompting the police to intensify their search efforts.

Officers soon intercepted the suspicious vehicle in Ourinhos, where four occupants were found. During questioning, two of the occupants, aged 19 and 39, admitted to being in the stolen car and were subsequently arrested for possession of stolen property. The other two individuals claimed they had merely offered a ride and had no knowledge of the criminal activity, and they were interviewed as witnesses before being released after documentation of the incident.
