The Realness Festival, a major drag event, will return to São Paulo with an impressive lineup of international and Brazilian artists on August 29.
The Realness Festival, regarded as one of the world’s largest celebrations of drag art, is set to return to São Paulo on August 29 at the Vibra São Paulo venue. This year’s edition will feature over 30 artists, showcasing both international talents and stars from the Brazilian drag scene. Notable among the international participants is Jinkx Monsoon, the only performer to have won the popular reality show RuPaul's Drag Race twice, alongside other prominent figures like Plastique Tiara, Adore Delano, Brooke Lynn Hytes, and Naomi Smalls.
The festival also highlights the strength and vibrancy of the Brazilian drag community. Grag Queen, who gained recognition on the musical reality show Queen of the Universe and is now a host for Drag Race Brasil, will participate as the festival's ambassador. The event will also feature winners from the Brazilian version of the reality show, Organzza and Ruby Nox, emphasizing the local talent that contributes to the festival’s international appeal.
Additionally, the Brazilian comedy scene will be represented by Silvetty Montilla, a beloved comedian known for her over three decades of entertaining audiences. This festival not only represents a significant cultural milestone for São Paulo but also promotes diversity and acceptance through its artistic expression, making it a much-anticipated event for both locals and visitors alike.
