Two defendants have been sentenced to 30 years in prison each for the robbery that led to the death of Beatriz Munhos, a 20-year-old university student, in São Paulo.

A São Paulo court has sentenced two of the four suspects involved in the fatal robbery of Beatriz Munhos, a 20-year-old university student, to 30 years in prison each. The incident occurred in 2025 when Beatriz, her father Lucas Munhos, and her boyfriend Leonardo Silva traveled to Sapopemba to sell a drone advertised for R$ 35,000. Unfortunately, they fell victim to a criminal gang posing as interested buyers.

The tragic event unfolded when Beatriz attempted to defend herself during the robbery, using pepper spray against one of the assailants. Security footage captured the moment she was shot in the head, underscoring the violence of the encounter, which took place in front of her father and boyfriend. The two additional suspects remain incarcerated while they face separate proceedings related to the same crime, highlighting how this case has resonated within the community.

The loss of Beatriz Munhos has sparked discussions around safety for individuals engaging in online sales, particularly in urban areas like São Paulo. This case not only reflects a tragic personal loss but also raises awareness regarding the growing risks associated with online transactions and the need for enhanced safety measures for potential sellers and buyers alike.
