Woman traveling with her 11-year-old son dies after car crashes into tree and overturns

A 43-year-old woman died in a car accident while traveling with her 11-year-old son in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

A tragic car accident occurred in Brazil, claiming the life of Meire Moreira de Almeida Rodrigues, a 43-year-old woman, who was traveling with her son on MG-400 in Buritis. The vehicle went off the road, struck a tree, and overturned. Reports indicate that Rodrigues became trapped in the wreckage and did not survive the crash, while her son was unharmed apart from sustaining minor injuries.

According to police reports, the woman and her son were en route from Formosa (GO) to Formoso (MG) when the incident took place on a Monday. Her son reported to officers that he noticed his mother dozing off while driving. At the time of the accident, he was asleep and was awakened by his mother's screams as the car was tipping over. Emergency services responded swiftly, and firefighters had to extricate the mother from the vehicle, unfortunately confirming her death at the scene.

The child received treatment for minor injuries at the Municipal Hospital of Buritis and has since been released. Authorities conducted a thorough investigation at the crash site, confirming that the vehicle's documentation was in order.
