Tallinn's city government has expressed its intention to beautify the tram corridor along Tartu Road, specifically between the Lubja and Pronksi stops, by replacing the existing paved surface with grass. This initiative was confirmed by the city's deputy mayors Joel Jesse and Kristjan Järvan during a press conference, where they highlighted the project's goals and expected outcomes for the urban environment.

On Monday, the Tallinn Transport Authority announced a procurement procedure for designing and constructing the green area along the tram corridor, which spans about one kilometer. The plans involve replacing the stone pavement surrounding the tram tracks with grass, significantly enhancing the visual appeal and ecological quality of the area. Deputy Mayor Järvan noted that prior to the local elections, he had inquired about the feasibility of this project, and received confirmation that transforming the tram corridor into a green space was indeed possible.

The estimated cost for implementing this green initiative is approximately 320,000 euros, excluding VAT. This project not only reflects Tallinn's commitment to urban greenery and sustainability but also aims to improve the overall aesthetics of city infrastructure.
