Arrests Made in a Robbery-Theft Case Involving Motorcycle

Two Greek men were arrested for being part of a gang that stole bags from vehicles in the Attica region using a motorcycle.

A gang operating in the Attica region, whose members used a high-powered motorcycle to snatch bags from inside vehicles, was dismantled by police from the New Philadelphia-New Chalcedon Crime Investigation Division. Two suspects, aged 57 and 60, were arrested last Friday afternoon in New Philadelphia, and their criminal activity was confirmed. The investigation revealed that the accused had formed and joined a gang at least since October 2025, with the aim of carrying out robberies and thefts against vehicle drivers.

The modus operandi of the gang involved approaching vehicles primarily driven by women while riding their motorcycle. When the vehicles were moving at low speed or were temporarily stopped, the suspects would strike, stealing bags and personal belongings with swift precision. The police emphasized the importance of vigilance among residents to prevent such crimes, given the increasing trend of motorcycle thefts in urban areas.

This event raises concerns about safety in public spaces, particularly for women drivers who may be more vulnerable in such scenarios. It highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in tackling organized crime and the need for greater community awareness and preventative measures.
