Greek authorities have successfully dismantled a criminal ring responsible for vehicle thefts and forgery of cars and motorcycles in the Attica region. The operation, carried out by the Organized Crime Unit, resulted in the arrest of eight individuals across various locations including Aspropygos, Agia Varvara, Piraeus, Ano Liosia, Spata, Kallithea, Tavros, and Moschato. This crackdown reflects the increasing efforts of law enforcement to combat organized crime in urban areas, where such activities have been escalating.

The charges against the arrested individuals are severe; they include participation in a criminal organization, committing aggravated theft in conspiracy and repeatedly, fraud leading to damage exceeding 120,000 euros, forgery with profits exceeding 120,000 euros, money laundering, as well as violations of drug and arms laws. The police investigation revealed that the group had been operating effectively over time, stealing vehicles and falsifying documents to sell them on the black market, showcasing a significant level of organization and planning.

Moreover, the police report notes that one additional suspect is currently incarcerated, and another is still being sought by authorities.
