Yle: A special permit was requested for Linda and Pete's performance at the Eurovision
Finland's UMK team has submitted a detailed guide to Eurovision regarding their performers Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen, including specific instructions for their presentation.
The UMK team representing Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest has submitted a comprehensive 30-page guide explaining the country's performance, featuring Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen's song 'Liekinheitin'. According to Yle, the guide includes detailed instructions on various aesthetics, such as ensuring that Linda's hair flows perfectly during the performance, aided by three assistants using a leaf blower to enhance the visual effect alongside the music. UMK producer Matti Myllyaho emphasized the importance of coordinating Linda's hair movement with the rhythm of the song, suggesting that this creative choice helps to generate dramatic effects within the performance.
Additionally, there are preparations to modify the fire window seen during the UMK performance, adapting it for the Eurovision stage which has narrower pathways than those in UMK. Myllyaho noted that a special permit has also been requested from the organizers to allow the use of fire elements designed and manufactured by a Finnish company, indicating the teamโs commitment to maintaining a unique Finnish identity throughout the performance without compromising safety or stage restrictions. These adaptations reflect the team's proactive approach to ensure a memorable showcase of Finnish talent at the international competition.
As the Eurovision Song Contest approaches, the focus remains on how these changes will resonate with the audience and judges, as well as the overall execution of Linda and Pete's performance amidst the challenges posed by venue logistics. The attention to detail speaks to the UMK team's dedication to delivering an impactful representation of Finland in this prestigious international event.
