Live Webcasting at Every Booth in Bengal, CEC Prepares for Violence-Free Elections
The Chief Election Commissioner of India announced plans for live webcasting at every polling booth in West Bengal to ensure a violence-free electoral process in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections.
In a press conference held in Kolkata, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar provided detailed insights into the preparations for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections in 2026. Over the past couple of days, the Election Commission's team has been present in the state, meeting with booth-level officers to discuss various issues pertinent to the electoral process. Kumar emphasized the deep-rooted democratic values in West Bengal, where voter turnout consistently remains high, and noted that the number of voters in the state is comparable to that of France, Australia, and Uruguay. He highlighted that one of the primary objectives is to create a clean voter list to ensure no eligible voter is left out.
