Two charged with violence at a high school: Student was knocked unconscious
Two 19-year-olds are charged with bodily harm after a violent incident at Rælingen high school where a student was knocked unconscious.
In November of last year, the police were called to Rælingen videregående skole in response to a violent incident that left a student severely injured. The victim was taken to Ullevål Hospital with possible serious injuries, having lost consciousness and sustained a bruise around one eye. Following the incident, two 19-year-olds are now facing charges of bodily harm for their involvement in the attack, which allegedly involved repeatedly hitting and kicking the victim while he was prone on the ground.
Witnesses to the violence have come forward, confirming that the assault occurred in front of several people. Initially, three individuals were suspects in the case; however, the police decided to drop charges against one of them due to insufficient evidence. The legal defense for one of the charged individuals has stated that his client does not acknowledge any wrongdoing, and further comments have been withheld pending the legal proceedings.
This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding violence in schools, particularly among teenagers. As it moves to court, the decision could impact not only the involved parties but also broader discussions about safety and accountability within educational institutions in Norway.
