In Vilnius – a series of thefts: property worth thousands of euros stolen from garages, cars, and an office

The police in Vilnius reported a spate of thefts occurring at various locations across the city, resulting in substantial financial losses.

The Vilnius police have announced a series of burglaries that took place in multiple locations within the city, highlighting an ongoing issue with property crimes. A report dated March 9 detailed thefts from garages on Naujoji Riovonių Street, where thieves stole an electric meter and metal ventilation boxes after breaking through roller gates, with damages estimated at approximately 5,000 euros.

Additional thefts were reported in a parking lot on Perkūnkiemio Street, where from January 30 to March 9, thieves broke the window of an Audi A7 and stole the headlights and cut the front bumper, incurring around 2,500 euros in losses. On the same day, another incident was recorded at a parking lot on Algimanto Petro Kavoliuko Street, where thieves smashed the window of a Mercedes-Benz, stealing various construction tools valued at around 2,300 euros. This pattern of thefts indicates a growing criminal concern in the area, emphasizing the need for increased security measures.

These incidents are part of a broader trend of rising property crimes in Vilnius, raising public safety concerns. The police are urging local residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, as well as to take preventive measures to safeguard their belongings. With thousands of euros in losses reported already, the urgency for addressing such criminal activities is imperative for maintaining the community's trust and security.
