The Seimas of Lithuania is set to convene for its spring session, during which over 500 legislative initiatives will be discussed, with the Government contributing 117 of these proposals. The session's priorities include enhancing national security, promoting economic growth, ensuring social welfare, and strengthening public finances. In light of changing geopolitical tensions, the parliament plans to update the National Security Strategy and is also expected to consider projects related to military training grounds in the Kapčiamiesčio and Tauragės areas, as well as cooperation with a German brigade stationed in Lithuania.

Among the key legislative proposals being put forth is a plan by the Government to establish an additional allowance for the lowest pension recipients in order to support senior citizens. Additionally, amendments to the Labor Code will be proposed to foster trust between employees and employers, addressing concerns around workers' rights and workplace conditions. These initiatives reflect the Government's commitment to improving social conditions and addressing the challenges faced by various demographics, including young families and individuals with disabilities.

Seimo Deputy Speaker Orinta Leiputė highlighted that the session will include projects aimed at promoting social progress across multiple sectors of life. Notable initiatives will focus on improving living conditions for young families, particularly those raising children with disabilities, and enhancing women's reproductive health services. The combination of these proposals indicates a comprehensive approach to legislative reform aimed at enhancing overall societal well-being and resilience against external threats.
