The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has initiated one of the largest urban development projects in its history, aiming to extend the capital city, Kinshasa, through the construction of a new city called Kinshasa Kia Mona, located 60 kilometers from the current city center. This ambitious project is estimated to cost around €46 billion and has already commenced with its first phase, led by a consortium of Chinese investors. However, the Congolese authorities are now seeking to diversify their investment sources by attracting European and other global investors.
