A severe rainstorm in São Paulo led to a flood that invaded a home on Doctor Nogueira Martins Street in the South Zone, as captured by a security camera. The footage shows a couple with their pets in the living room when water suddenly rushes in. Despite their desperate attempts to escape, the couple was overwhelmed by the rising water, which quickly engulfed their living space.

Fortunately, the residents managed to escape without physical injuries, but tragically, their two elderly dogs and a cat perished in the flood. The survivor, Cristiano de Oliveira, recounted the harrowing experience, stating that they initially tried to save their pets by placing them on the sofa as the water level rose alarmingly. However, the floodwaters escalated to dangerous levels, leading to a frantic struggle for survival.

De Oliveira expressed gratitude for his companion, who he believes saved his life during the ordeal. His experience sheds light on the severe weather patterns affecting the region and raises concerns about the preparedness of urban areas like São Paulo to cope with such extreme weather events, especially in vulnerable neighborhoods where flooding is a risk.
