Exhibition takes a virtual tour of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in SP
An immersive exhibition in São Paulo will recount the history of Notre-Dame Cathedral using virtual reality technology.
A new immersive exhibition titled 'Notre-Dame de Paris – Sacred and Eternal' is set to open in São Paulo on March 21, showcasing the history of the Notre-Dame Cathedral through advanced technology. Located at Shopping Cidade São Paulo on Avenida Paulista, tickets for this 45-minute virtual experience will be available for R$ 58. The exhibition highlights the cathedral's evolution from the Middle Ages up to its reconstruction following the devastating fire in 2019.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to explore the space equipped with virtual reality goggles, which will enhance their journey through time. Historical figures such as Guillaume d'Auvergne, the Bishop of Paris in the 13th century, and architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, known for his significant 19th-century restoration, will be featured throughout the presentation. This interactive format allows attendees to engage more deeply with the rich history of the cathedral, which draws millions of tourists every year.
The exhibition is not only a tribute to Notre-Dame but also part of a broader trend of using immersive technology in cultural storytelling. Having previously been featured in an immersive exhibition at MIS Experience in 2024, the Notre-Dame Cathedral continues to inspire awe and interest, reflecting its cultural importance and the impact of its restoration post-fire. This event is expected to attract both locals and tourists, further enriching São Paulo's vibrant cultural scene.
