Calamity Withdrawal: Residents of Acre can request benefit starting this Monday (9)

Residents of Rio Branco affected by the floods of the Acre River can apply for the Calamity Withdrawal from the Guarantee Fund for Length of Service starting Monday, April 9.

Residents of Rio Branco, Acre, are now able to request the Calamity Withdrawal from the Guarantee Fund for Length of Service (FGTS) due to recent flooding caused by the Acre River. Starting today, individuals can apply for this benefit in person at the Parque de Exposições, which is set up to support those affected in their efforts to reconstruct homes damaged by the floods. The offer to access funds from the FGTS is provided by Caixa Econômica Federal and the deadline for applications is April 19.

The Calamity Withdrawal program is particularly important as it serves to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by families who lost their homes in the deluge. The local Municipal Civil Defense, represented by Captain Lopes, has specified that eligibility requires having a linked FGTS account. For those unable to verify their residency status through the FGTS application, assistance is available directly at the site of the application, thereby ensuring that all affected individuals have equal access to the support.

This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts by local authorities and Caixa Econômica Federal to aid residents in crisis situations, particularly in regions prone to natural disasters. As the water recedes, the focus will shift to recovery and rebuilding, and access to these funds will play a vital role in helping families return to stability after such a devastating event.
