The Engineer Gentil Forn road, one of the main access routes to Cidade Alta in Juiz de Fora, remains closed as of Monday (9) due to the risk of landslides following the severe rainfall that impacted the city in February. Authorities have indicated ongoing concerns regarding the stability of the road, urging motorists to seek alternative routes to ensure safety.

For those navigating from the North Zone, the Park das Águas route is recommended, with the Senhor dos Passos avenue now open after pavement repairs. Drivers coming from the South Zone may opt for the Prefeito Mello Reis avenue, which provides direct access to the Aeroporto neighborhood. Additionally, the Borboleta neighborhood has been undergoing cleaning operations to facilitate better traffic flow as it is another key route to Cidade Alta.

To assist drivers during this closure, the local government has deployed both mobile and fixed panels displaying alerts about detours, and real-time updates are available through the Waze app. Several other roads, including the Avenida Joaquim Vicente Guedes and Avenida Vereador Laudelino Schettino, also remain closed as authorities work to secure the affected areas and maintain public safety.
