A truck lost its brakes, crashed into a post, and damaged the fence of the UFMG University Housing in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
On Monday morning, a truck lost its brakes while descending Novara Avenue in the Ouro Preto neighborhood of Pampulha, Belo Horizonte and crashed into a post and the fence of the UFMG University Housing. This incident was confirmed by the Police Military, which reported that the vehicle came to a stop only after colliding with a structure on Fleming Avenue. The driver and his companion were unharmed during the event.
The collision resulted in damage to both a post and part of the fencing and gate of the UFMG University Housing facility. The university quickly responded with a statement indicating that there were no injuries and that significant structural damage was avoided. The institution has also alerted its maintenance team, associated with the Mendes Pimentel University Foundation, to initiate the necessary repairs.
In relation to the damaged post, local energy provider Cemig was called to the site to assess any potential impact on electricity supply due to the incident.
