Hot Weather Showcases Its Power at the Beginning of March in Rajasthan, with Many Cities Approaching 40 Degrees
Rajasthan experiences a notable rise in temperatures at the beginning of March, with several cities recording temperatures between 36 to 40 degrees Celsius, significantly above normal levels.
In the early days of March, Rajasthan has already begun feeling the impact of rising temperatures, with Monday recording significantly high temperatures in various parts of the state. The meteorological department indicated that many cities saw maximum temperatures ranging from 36 to 40 degrees Celsius, which is about 5 to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. The forecast suggests that dry weather conditions will persist across most of the state for at least the next week, and there may be a slight increase in maximum temperatures over the next 48 hours.
The highest temperature recorded on Monday was in Barmer, where the mercury touched 40.4 degrees Celsius. Following that, Pilani registered a temperature of 39.5 degrees, while Tonk district's Vansathali recorded 39.2 degrees. Other notable temperatures included 39.1 degrees in Churu and 39 degrees in Jaisalmer, all contributing to a pattern of early heat that is not typical for March. This rise in temperature raises concerns regarding heat-related issues, as the population may not yet be acclimatized to such sudden spikes in heat.
As the capital city, Jaipur also felt the brunt of the heat wave, reflecting trends observed across the rest of the state. The implications of these early high temperatures may lead to increased energy consumption due to air conditioning and cooling demands, potentially straining local resources. The continued pattern of high temperatures may also have adverse effects on agriculture and public health, prompting authorities to prepare for what could be a challenging summer ahead.
