Beware! After Holi, the heat will torment, the temperature will rise from Delhi-UP to Rajasthan
Following Holi, residents of northern India, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, are warned of severe heat, with temperatures expected to soar between 34-35 degrees Celsius in the first week of March.
After the festival of Holi, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for a significant rise in temperatures across northern India, particularly in states like Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The department anticipates that in the first week of March, temperatures could reach between 34 to 35 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures in several regions of northwest India expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above the norm. Central India may experience a temperature rise of approximately 3 to 5 degrees Celsius higher than usual.
The warnings come as people across northern India prepare for the upcoming heatwave conditions that may affect their daily lives. The IMD specifically noted increased temperatures and humidity in areas such as Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. These conditions may linger for at least the next week, suggesting that residents should prepare for uncomfortable weather that could impact outdoor activities and general well-being.
The forecast for northwest and central India indicates that the elevated temperatures are expected to prevail for the next seven days, raising concerns about potential heat-related health issues. With such high temperatures on the horizon, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and cool, as the region shifts from the cooler winter months into the stifling heat of early summer.
