40 vehicles and several injured in accidents on the North Jutland Motorway

Multiple severe traffic accidents on the E45 North Jutland Motorway resulted in injuries and significant road closures on Monday due to dense fog.

On Monday, several serious traffic accidents occurred on the E45 North Jutland Motorway, leading to numerous injuries among individuals involved. According to Nordjyllands Politi, ambulances treated seven people, with two of them transported as trauma patients; however, both are reported to be in stable condition. Additionally, eight more individuals received medical attention for minor injuries, indicating the accidents' significant impact on people's safety.

Vice police inspector Kenneth Ginnerup, responsible for the police response, stated that approximately 40 vehicles were involved in the accidents on this stretch of motorway. The accidents are believed to be caused by thick fog and poor visibility, which drastically impaired drivers' sight and contributed to the occurrence of multiple collisions. The severity of the situation has drawn attention to the risks associated with driving in adverse weather conditions, highlighting the need for heightened caution among motorists.

As a consequence of the accidents and the ongoing efforts from the police and emergency services, the E45 is closed in the northbound direction from Støvring Syd. The closures are necessary to facilitate rescue operations and ensure public safety while addressing the aftermath of the incidents. This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of driving in inclement weather, and authorities are likely to enforce stricter traffic measures to prevent similar instances in the future.
