The Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) has taken steps to improve the operational capabilities of the Greek Coast Guard as part of a longstanding collaboration with security authorities at Greece's largest port. This initiative includes donations aimed at bolstering daily operational actions of Coast Guard personnel and enhancing safety within the Piraeus port area. The donation will specifically provide six motorcycles, which come with five years of technical support, as well as necessary equipment modifications including lights, sirens, and microphones installed on the vehicles.

In addition to the motorcycles, the donation also includes thirty sets of rider gear, which comprises helmets, gloves, and boots, underscoring a comprehensive approach to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the Coast Guard members while they perform their duties. The total value of this equipment donation is approximately 70,000 euros, showcasing the commitment of OLP to support local law enforcement agencies and enhance maritime safety and security within the busy port.

The handover of this significant donation was carried out on Monday to the central port commander of Piraeus, Angelos Grammateas, with oversight from the Deputy CEO of OLP, highlighting the strategic importance of such contributions in fostering collaboration between public entities and enhancing maritime operational readiness. This partnership not only reflects the OLP's dedication to community safety but also reinforces the integral role of the Coast Guard in ensuring maritime security in one of Europe’s busiest ports.
