Rescue at the Outdoor Pool: Fire Brigade Releases Beaver from Swimming Pool at Dantebad

A beaver was rescued from a swimming pool at Dantebad in Munich after being unable to escape on its own.

The Dantebad in Gern, a popular heated outdoor pool in Munich, encountered an unexpected visitor on a Saturday afternoon—a beaver trapped in one of its swimming pools. As the pool was only half-filled, the beaver found itself unable to escape, prompting the staff to assist the animal. They initially constructed a makeshift walkway connected to a ladder, which the beaver accepted but struggled with the ladder itself.

Given the complications with the ladder, the staff decided to call the local fire brigade for further assistance. The firefighters came up with a solution by constructing a wooden ramp that ultimately helped the beaver escape the pool after a brief period of hesitation. Fortunately, the beaver appeared to be unharmed during the ordeal, and once freed, it exited the pool area without paying much attention to the humans who helped it.

This incident highlights not only the necessity of wildlife rescue efforts in urban areas but also the unique challenges posed by urban wildlife venturing into man-made recreational spaces. The successful rescue showcases the cooperation between local facilities and emergency services to ensure the safety of wildlife within the community.
