A dehydrated horse was rescued from a busy avenue in Limeira, Brazil, and the municipal authorities are investigating possible mistreatment by its owner.
A horse was discovered in a weakened state on the night of Sunday, October 8, on Avenida Lauro Corrêa da Silva, located in the Residential Palmeira Real area of Limeira, São Paulo. The local administration noted that the animal was severely dehydrated and in need of immediate care. The owner of the horse has not yet been located, prompting concerns about the animal's wellbeing and the circumstances surrounding its condition.
The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) provided initial assistance to the horse and contacted the Environmental Protection Secretariat for further help. A municipal veterinarian provided emergency care on-site before the horse was transported to the Horto Florestal facility.
