A landslide occurred in the parish of Ducur in the Javín sector of Cañar, Ecuador. In response, the Cañar Fire Department promptly arrived at the scene to assist in managing the situation. Additionally, a technical team from the Risk Secretariat is assessing the damage and gathering information about the incident.
Initial reports indicate that one house was affected, which was home to a family of three. A vehicle in the vicinity also suffered damage due to the landslide. President Daniel Noboa has stated that the Risk Secretariat is actively mobilizing to provide aid to those impacted by the recent extreme winter weather that has caused disturbances in various parts of the country.
The adverse winter conditions have been felt not only in Cañar but also in the provinces of Guayas, Manabí, Los Ríos, and Esmeraldas, highlighting the widespread impact of this seasonal weather pattern.
