Environmental Protection Initiative: Major Cleanup in Ebersberger Forest
A major cleanup event in the Ebersberger Forest is scheduled for March 14, organized by local environmental groups and state forests.
The Ebersberger Forest is set to host a significant cleanup event on March 14, organized by various local groups including the State Forests, the Bund Naturschutz, and the Landesbund fΓΌr Vogelschutz. This initiative aims to address the litter problem that has been revealed as snow melts and spring arrives. In previous years, volunteers have been able to collect substantial amounts of waste, highlighting the community effort to preserve their natural surroundings.
Last year, around 100 volunteers participated and collected 450 kilograms of trash, indicating the widespread issue of littering in the forest. The event will begin at multiple meeting points across six parking areas, with the local community providing necessary tools and guidance for participants. This engagement not only helps clean the environment but fosters a sense of community responsibility and action towards environmental protection.
Benedikt Sommer, the chairperson of the LBV district association, emphasized the importance of such clean-up actions, stating that littering signifies the degradation of living environments. He encourages everyone to join the cleanup and contribute to making their hometown a more livable place, demonstrating how community involvement can lead to significant environmental improvements.
