Jhansi: Collision between army vehicle and poultry-laden pickup truck, death of a Naib Subedar
In a tragic accident in Jhansi, a Naib Subedar lost his life after an army vehicle collided with a poultry pickup truck.
A fatal accident occurred early Monday morning in the Babina area of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, when an army vehicle and a poultry-laden pickup truck collided head-on. The accident resulted in the death of Naib Subedar Harkesh Yadav, 46, from the 219th MED Division. Yadav, a native of Ghazipur, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was immediately transported to a military hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
According to reports, the driver of the military vehicle, Pradeep Singh Rana, was on his way to the division when the pickup truck, which was coming from the opposite direction, hit them. The police have apprehended the driver of the pickup truck for questioning. Vinay Kumar Sahu, the officer-in-charge of Babina police station, detailed that the impact was severe enough to cause the Naib Subedar critical injuries.
The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, with a case registered based on the complaint by the army vehicle's driver. The incident has raised concerns regarding road safety and the accountability of drivers in military and civilian vehicle interactions, highlighting the need for more stringent regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
