BYD launches Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging for faster and more durable charging

BYD has introduced its Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging technology, promising significant advancements in electric vehicle charging speeds and efficiency.

BYD, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer, is making strides in enhancing the practicality and efficiency of electric vehicles with the launch of its Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging technology. The Flash Charging can deliver power up to 1500 kW through a single rectifier, significantly reducing the time required to charge electric vehicles. For instance, charging from 10% to 70% takes only five minutes, and from 10% to 97% takes just nine minutes, a significant improvement over current charging solutions.

The Blade Battery 2.0 complements the Flash Charging technology by increasing the vehicle's range due to a 5% increase in energy density, allowing for distances over 1000 km on a single charge as per the Chinese CLTC efficiency tests. Even in extreme cold conditions, where charging speed typically drops, the Flash Charger can charge the Blade from 20% to 97% in just 12 minutes, showcasing its robust capabilities. This advancement not only promotes the adoption of electric vehicles but also addresses concerns regarding battery performance in challenging weather conditions.

These developments are a result of intensive internal efforts by BYD to overcome the barriers to widespread electric vehicle adoption. The synergy between the new charging technology and the upgraded battery is set to make electric vehicles more appealing to consumers who are concerned about charging time and vehicle range. As the automotive industry continues to shift towards electrification, innovations like those introduced by BYD will likely play a crucial role in shaping the future of electric mobility.
