Don't forget this support of up to 4000 euros - Soon it will be too late

A funding opportunity for homeowners to transition away from fossil heating ends soon, with applications due by May 25, 2026.

Homeowners of detached and semi-detached houses in Finland have a limited window to apply for up to 4000 euros in financial support for abandoning fossil fuel heating systems. The last day to submit applications to the Vitality Center is May 25, 2026, while all replacement work must be completed by August 31, 2026. With less than a few months left for both application submission and completion of renovation work, prospective applicants are urged to act swiftly if they wish to take advantage of the scheme.

Currently, there are still funds available which are expected to assist around 2,000 applicants. Katariina Herrala, a finance expert from the Central Finland Vitality Center, emphasizes the importance of not leaving the application and renovation to the last minute, as the payment request must be submitted separately for fully completed projects by September 30. Given the tight deadlines for both application and project timelines, homeowners are advised to begin planning their renovations immediately to secure their eligibility for this grant.

The program has already benefitted nearly 35,000 households, highlighting the significant impact of such financial incentives on homeowners looking to transition to more sustainable heating solutions. As the deadline approaches, awareness and proactive measures will be critical for those seeking this assistance to ensure they do not miss out on the opportunity to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels in their heating systems.
