A farm building burned down in the Šilutė district: rabbits perished

At around 6:30 AM, a fire was reported at a farm building in the Šilutė district, which was extinguished within two hours. Upon arrival, firefighters found the facility engulfed in open flames. The building was made of brick, featured reinforced concrete ceilings, and had a gabled roof covered with slate. Nearby, a wooden firewood storage and a garage were at risk as well. During the fire, the roof of the farm building was burned, along with the wooden firewood storage which contained firewood, sawdust, and 51 packages of sawdust briquettes. Furthermore, several household items were destroyed, leading to the unfortunate demise of seven rabbits and one chicken, although 20 chickens were successfully rescued from the blaze. This incident highlights the risks associated with agricultural facilities and the potential for significant losses in such events. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed, raising concerns about fire safety measures in rural areas.
