A farm building burned in Šilutė district, no damage reported

A farm building in the town of Gardamas, Lithuania, caught fire with no confirmed reports of injuries or damage to animals.

A fire broke out at a farm building in Gardamas, located in the Šilutė district, early in the morning. According to the initial reports from the Emergency Response Center, the fire was reported at approximately 6:30 AM, with concerns about animals being inside the building. However, this information was later proven incorrect, as firefighters on the scene indicated there were no animals present during the firefighting efforts.

Firefighting units from the Klaipėda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident, and by 7:00 AM, the fire was localized. The authorities mentioned that four fire engines were at the site to manage the situation. The farm building, measuring around 525 square meters, was engulfed in flames upon the firefighters' arrival, but they successfully preserved an attached garage during the operation.

Despite the urgency of the situation, the fire department did not report any evacuations or injuries to humans, alleviating initial concerns. The situation is still under investigation, but so far, it seems that both animals and people have remained unharmed, marking a favorable outcome in what could have been a more disastrous incident.
