All lines are affected: Trains hit by major problems in the capital area
All S-train lines in the Copenhagen area are currently experiencing irregularities and delays due to a signal system failure at Copenhagen Central Station.
All S-train lines in the Copenhagen area are currently facing disruptions, with irregular service and delays reported by DSB, the Danish railway operator. The issues stem from a malfunction in the signal system around Copenhagen Central Station. This has caused significant inconvenience for commuters, exacerbated by simultaneous issues with the Copenhagen Metro, where lines M1 and M2 are also experiencing extensive delays.
In a morning update, Metroselskabet reported that there is no train service between Christianshavn and DR Byen, while passengers traveling between VanlΓΈse and Copenhagen Airport must change trains at Christianshavn. This issue has created substantial delays, with reports of a 35-minute wait time, which is particularly problematic during morning rush hour when trains usually arrive every two minutes.
Metro operations continue normally for lines M3 and M4. As the situation develops, Ritzau is seeking more information from the Metro authorities about the nature of the problems and the estimated timeline for resolution. Clearly, these transportation disruptions could have a broader impact on commuter patterns and overall travel in and out of Copenhagen for the duration of the repairs.
