Pekka Seppänen from Finland has been appointed as the head coach of the Estonian women's national volleyball team, with a contract allowing for future extension after the first year.

The Estonian Volleyball Federation has confirmed Finnish coach Pekka Seppänen as the new head coach of the Estonian women's national volleyball team. 42-year-old Seppänen brings considerable experience to the role, including coaching the Finnish national team as an assistant and a successful career in Finland's top volleyball league, following an extensive playing career. His contract is structured as a 1+2 arrangement, which allows for a two-year extension after the first year if deemed successful.

The president of the Estonian Volleyball Federation, Hanno Pevkur, expressed his confidence in Seppänen's vision for the team's development, aligning well with the federation's goals for the growth of women's volleyball in Estonia. Pevkur highlighted the coach's appropriate background and experience as key factors in undertaking this significant challenge. The federation is optimistic about the collaboration and looks forward to witnessing the Estonian women's team achieving greater heights in the coming years.

Seppänen himself is eager to take on this new challenge, which he describes as a fortunate coincidence that arose from a former colleague in the Finnish national team notifying him about the opportunity with the Estonian women’s team.
